PECB Certified Lead Crisis Manager is a 5-day international individual certification aligned with ISO 22361:2022. It is aimed at professionals who lead a crisis cell: Crisis Managers, Heads of Resilience, and CISOs facing major incidents.
PECB Certified Lead Crisis Manager is issued by PECB (Professional Evaluation and Certification Board). It is the international individual certification that validates mastery of ISO 22361:2022, Security and resilience — Crisis management — Guidelines.
The programme covers four operational domains: governance and the structure of the Crisis Management Team (CMT); decision-making under ambiguity; multi-stakeholder crisis communication (media, authorities, employees, customers, regulators); and the post-crisis phase with a structured lessons-learned review.
The exam takes place on the fifth day: 3 hours, multiple choice with open questions, minimum score 70%, available in French or English. Once candidates pass, they compile their PECB application file to obtain the certification.

An effective crisis-management framework defines leadership, structure, culture and skills, then tests them through scenarios. It has to make decision-making, information flow and communication explicit.
