Course Description

AI systems are moving into business processes faster than security teams can review them. Internal assistants, agents that call tools, and models embedded in production chains expose attack surfaces that traditional IT controls do not cover. The European AI Act is phasing in risk management, documentation, and robustness obligations for covered systems, and Swiss organizations working with European partners must show they meet them. For security leaders, the question is no longer whether AI needs oversight, but who can prove that production models were tested against the attacks aimed at them.

Over five days, participants work through the full lifecycle of an AI system. Day 1 covers machine learning and deep learning fundamentals, so participants can locate where risk enters during design and training. Day 2 analyzes large language model architecture, training workflows, and attack tactics using the OWASP Top 10 for LLM applications. Day 3 covers security controls, AI-driven monitoring, threat hunting, and AI-assisted malware analysis. Day 4 addresses incident response, trust in trained models, governance, and secure architecture. Labs on prompt injection testing, red teaming, and threat intelligence workflows run throughout, with threat analysis anchored in MITRE ATLAS.

The course addresses what general security programs leave out. A prompt injection, a poisoned dataset, or an agent with excessive permissions on an internal tool often triggers no alert in standard logs, so detection sources need to be rethought. Responsibility is also split across data scientists, developers, security teams, and legal counsel, and no single role owns the risk end to end. Participants learn to separate model, data, and infrastructure risk, assign ownership, and write conclusions that a risk committee can act on.

By the end of the course, participants assess the security posture of AI systems, implement appropriate controls, respond to AI security incidents, and support their organization’s governance obligations. They sit the three-hour PECB exam covering five competency domains, receive more than 320 pages of training materials with exercises and quizzes, and earn an attestation worth 31 CPD credits. At Abilene Academy, the first exam attempt and one free retake within 12 months are included in the training fee.

    • Identify risks introduced by the design, training, and deployment of AI systems
    • Analyze threats to LLM systems using MITRE ATLAS and the OWASP LLM Top 10
    • Test an LLM for prompt injection and document the vulnerabilities found
    • Apply security controls and monitoring rules to AI systems in production
    • Detect, contain, and investigate adversarial activity targeting AI systems
    • Design an AI security program covering incident response, supply chain, and compliance
    • Evaluate the secure architecture of an AI solution and its red teaming plan

Professional Testimonials

★★★★★
“Had a great experience learning with Abilene Academy, it has been an extremely long time since I have attended an external formal training outside of the business organization I work in. I found this training to be truly beneficial for me to attend. the overall delivery of the course by Henri was superb, he kept us well engage despite having half of the room online and half face to face. The communication from the advisors from the initial enquiry regrading the course up until now has also been great! definitely recommending to my colleagues. Thank you!”
